Improper Microsoft Patch Leaves 3rd-Party RDP Clients Vulnerable

In July 2019 Microsoft has patched a vulnerability where a client system could get compromised when remotely accessing a server over Microsoft’s Remote Desktop Protocol. A team of cyber security researchers were able to bypass the patch by replacing the backward slashes in paths with forward slashes.

Microsoft re-patched the flaw in February 2020.
