People looking for cartographic presentations of the spread of the Coronavirus have been targeted by hackers. The user is tricked to download and run a malicious application that shows a map of the reported cases and the global distribution of COVID-19.
The malware is called AZORult. It collects information stored in web browsers, particularly cookies, browsing histories, user IDs, passwords, and even cryptocurrency keys. The malware is even capable of generating a hidden administrator account in infected computers to enable connections via the remote desktop protocol (RDP).
